A film produced as part of the Mouvement(s) project, led by the association Les Inattendus in autumn 2019 at the Cité Jardin and with the FLE groups of the Gerland Social Center. Movement, through the very process of reproducing the image, is at the heart of cinema. On screen, it imitates and sometimes anticipates walking, running, leaving factories, conquering space. Seized by the camera, it tells us something essential about the place given to the body in existences called upon to adapt to the acceleration of the world. From the danced gesture to the practice of martial arts, from bodybuilding to the discovery of a space through virtual reality, the film offers an exploration of these movements that lead us and question us.

Né  en 1987, Thomas se forme à EPSE danse à Montpellier puis de 2008 à 2012  au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon en  danse contemporaine. Il y a abordé le répertoire de Pina Baush, Trisha  Brown et Claude Brumachon.

En 2011, il danse Concursus pour  la compagnie ANDO de Davy Brun. En 2012 Thomas a cofondé le Collectif  A/R avec Julia Moncla et Paul Changarnier. Par la suite il intègre la  compagnie Samuel Mathieu pour les créations  Les Identités Remarquables (2012), Humano Project (2013) et R (2014). Et Il fait une reprise de rôle pour Vertiges  de Yan Raballand - compagnie Contrepoint.

En 2013, il rejoint la Compagnie de rue Ex Nihilo pour une reprise de Trajets de ville et une création Le nom du lieu.  Il travaille également pour le chorégraphe belge David Hernandez pour la création 2015 Hullabaloo. 

De 2016 à 2019, il collabore sur les projets Au delà de l'absence et Aux portes de l'oubli  avec la compagnie Kerman de Sébastien Ly et sur la création Subliminal de Thomas Guerry de la compagnie Arcosm. Actuellement il travaille avec Amala Dianor pour une reprise de rôle sur  le trio Quelque part au milieu de l'infini  et  la pièce de groupe The falling Stardust.

Born  in Villeurbanne, France. Learned the ropes at TCM film channel in  London. From 2000 to 2007, in charge of channel branding then  director-editor. In 2007-2008, travels extensively throughout South  America / Spanish language and civilisation course at the University of  Buenos Aires. 

In  2010-2011, Master Degree in Creative Documentary - Barcelona Pompeu  Fabra University (Workshops and Master Classes by Leena Pasanen, Sergei  Dvortsevoy, Marcel Lozinski, Luciano Rigolini). 2012, production of a  documentary essay : Chalk and Quill, programmed in a dozen festivals  including FID Marseille.  

Since  2013, teaches, directs and develops various projects: experimental  short films kineticos and Alluuies, documentary La ruche (The Hive).  2015 Training the fundamentals of production in Lussas. Since 2014,  member of the artistic team of the non profit Les Inattendus in Lyon  (festival programming, setting up filming workshops). 2018, saw him  finish the documentary essay Equateur, lointain intérieur (Ecuador, Deep  Inside). 2020, completes a first feature-length documentary film:  Beside Oneself and works on several film projects.

Founded in 2012 by Paul Changarnier, Thomas Demay and Julia Moncla, the Collectif A/R imagines shows and performances by questioning the Dance/Music relationship. Whether they are on stage or in the public space, this desire to combine live music and contemporary dance is at the heart of their creative process.
