“The subject of this show is desire. Sexual desire, but also desire in general, desire for life. A really powerful desire which alienates, frustrates. Marlon Brando is the embodiment of this. It is also a pretext for talking about sexuality, especially my own. The background, ultimately the context for this solo, is this dichotomy, this contradiction which I feel between feminism and patriarchy, both equally oppressive in their own way:
- Feminism by the enormity of the task, this obligation to be an independent woman.
- Patriarchy by domination and alienation; but by emotional blackmail too, as I am susceptible to its old-fashioned charm.
It is this rift which forms the setting for my text.
I feel the need to reclaim these contradictory attitudes which have marked and continue to mark my existence. Perhaps naïvely, responsively, absurdly at times. So? It is also this freedom that I want to recapture.

Lachaise, Aude
After graduating as a Master in German at the University of Rennes, and a brief moment at the Conservatory of Rennes, Aude Lachaise starts training under Ex.erce at the Centre Chorégraphique National of Montpellier.
Since then, she has worked with choreographers in a great variety of styles like: Félix Rückert, Estzer Salamon, Nathalie Pernette, Kataline Patkaï, Robyn Orlin and Olga Mesa. She also occasionally plays in short films by photographer Noritoshi Hirakawa or Marjolaine Grandjean. Finally, she is also one of the four singers-performers-songwriters of a girl band: Les Vraoums (Myspace).
In 2009, she created and performed a first solo, "Marlon", a monologue about desire. She has since then been in residence at L'L (Brussels) and at Mains d'Œuvres (Saint-Ouen).
Aude Lachaise is attracted by humour, eroticism, performance, drama and the very abstract. Her tastes and her culture are relatively popular. Her favourite word is “païen" (pagan). She uses it quite frequently when she talks about her work because it reminds her of telluric forces, a noble vulgarity, gaiety, vitality, power, pleasure, insolence, and slap and tickle maybe a little as well...

Author, filmmaker and video artist Charles Picq (1952-2012) entered working life in the 70s through theatre and photography. A- fter resuming his studies (Maîtrise de Linguistique - Lyon ii, Maîtrise des sciences et Techniques de la Communication - grenoble iii), he then focused on video, first in the field of fine arts at the espace Lyonnais d'art Contemporain (ELAC) and with the group « Frigo », and then in dance.
On creation of the Maison de la Danse in Lyon in 1980, he was asked to undertake a video documentation project that he has continued ever since. During the ‘80s, a decade marked in France by the explosion of contemporary dance and the development of video, he met numerous artists such as andy Degroat, Dominique Bagouet, Carolyn Carlson, régine Chopinot, susanne Linke, Joëlle Bouvier and regis Obadia, Michel Kelemenis. - He founded a video library of dance films with free public access. This was a first for France. Continuing the video documentation of theatre performances, he organised their management and storage.
- He promoted the creation of a video-bar and projection room, both dedicated to welcoming school pupils.
- He started «présentations de saisons» in pictures.
- He oversaw the DVD publication of Le tour du monde en 80 danses, a pocket video library produced by the Maison de la Danse for the educational sector.
- He launched the series “scènes d'écran” for television and online. He undertook the video library's digital conversion and created Numeridanse.
His main documentaries are: enchaînement, Planète Bagouet, Montpellier le saut de l'ange, Carolyn Carlson, a woman of many faces, grand ecart, Mama africa, C'est pas facile, Lyon, le pas de deux d'une ville, Le Défilé, Un rêve de cirque.

The “Nouvelle Danse Française” of the 1980s
In France, at the beginning of the 1980s, a generation of young people took possession of the dancing body to sketch out their unique take on the world.

Meeting with literature
Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
