Keeping Time
Ocean Moves is a series of cine-dance made up of short episodes, showcases of the intersection between choreographic art and cinema, which brings out the social and ecological issues of the Indian Ocean, their beauty and the imagination they carry. It is a question of promoting their link to places and objects of inspiration, to the environment: social, popular, natural, living... Outside the usual show stages, the challenge is to reintegrate the personality of the places in which the dance is anchored, the personality of this Indianoceanic environment whether social or natural, intense or ordinary, and to increase the awareness of a living memory, as much for the dancers as for the local population. Anuang'a, Fernando
A Kenyan dancer and choreographer, self-taught and unconventional, Anuang’a represented his country at every popular and official event at the start of his career in 1990. He draws from Tradition and is inspired by the beliefs that form the foundation of his creations. His movements, simply yet powerfully magnified by a wave-like motion, tell a true initiatory story. Energy is channeled into vertical jumps, and emotion is raw. Anuang’a combines strength and flexibility with vocal rhythms, the driving force behind his movement, expressing authenticity with passion.
