Thomas-Konate, Camille

Dancer, jazz dance teacher, teacher-trainer in pedagogy and didactics, also responsible for the Centre de Formation Danse de Cergy (CFD).

After studying jazz at the CRR in Cergy-Pontoise, she went on to study dance at the Rick ODUMS professional training institute (IFPRO), graduating in 2002. During her final year of studies, she joined the Cie ANOÏ, an Afro-contemporary dance company, for several years, where she developed her knowledge of African dance, which has had a major impact on her jazz and her teaching.

Convinced that dance is an art of sharing that fosters social cohesion and openness to others, she is ideally suited to the CFD, which was set up in Cergy in 2009 to create a multi-disciplinary dance training programme. The constant exchanges with the team's teachers and the connections between different styles, particularly hip-hop disciplines, will nourish her teaching and her aesthetic. Her interest in hip-hop culture, in which she has been immersed since she was a teenager and which has grown with time, led her to develop, alongside other teachers, a professional training course in hip-hop dance in Cergy in 2018. For the past 5 years, she has been coordinating the course alongside Philippe ‘Physs’ Almeida, among others, and has been involved as a trainer.

Always on the lookout for new skills, she began training for the Certificat d'Aptitude de professeur de jazz at the CNSMD in Lyon, graduating in October 2022. She also oversees the organisation of cultural events such as Cergy Funk Style and Jazz in the House.

Agbenoo, Mawunyo

Choreographer, dancer, circus artist and musical composer.

After working for 9 years with several French dance companies on different types of shows (musical comedy Chantons la Fontaine (2012), Cie Black Bakara, Cie Nosaj (Celly), Cie Trafic d'influence, Cie Mood - Hervé Sika, Cie Mab - Marie Vauzelle, Cie Youcef Ouali), he decided to write his own ‘one-man show’. It was during the creation of this show that music became a revelation and a necessity. So, in August 2018, he redirected his career towards musical composition. Inspired mainly by Nils Frahm, Bonobo and Max Cooper Hania Rani, he set himself the challenge of writing an EP. He sees his music as the soundtrack to a film, with worlds inviting us to embark on an odyssey about our perception of the world and our desires.

He is lucky enough to live in a place surrounded by nature, from which he draws his inspiration or retains the imprint of a feeling or emotion. Since 2020, he has been the musical director for a number of film and live performance projects. After being an associate artist at the largest concert hall in the Val d'Oise, he will release his album Formless in November 2024.

Le Mao, Gilles

Director of the production company La Huit since 1990, Gilles Le Mao has produced and directed, on behalf of the General Delegation of Artistic Creation, more than 300 variations of “Dance Events” since 1996.

Executive producer of some 400 audiovisual and cinema programs at La Huit, he also carries out major interviews on personalities from ethnology, architecture, landscape and art history with the Ministry of Culture. 2009 World Music Favorite Prize from the Charles Cros Academy for the film “The Drums of Tokyo”, he has produced around fifty documented concerts on jazz, world music and classical music since 1999.

He has also been a member of various selective cinema commissions since 2009 at the CNC and in the Limousin, Normandy and Grand-Est regions. Since 1995, he has worked with the Ministry of Culture - Drac Ile de France in high school and BTS cinema and production section.
