INSTRUMENT is a short dance film about the body and it's synergistic dialog with our surrounding and other invisible media. Choreographer Lukas Timulak and director Ruben van Leer present an experiment in modern dance and computer animation.

Timulak, Lukas

After the study at Dance Conservatory in Bratislava (Slovakia) and Academie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monaco in 1997 Lukas joined Les Ballets de Monte Carlo where he danced for three years under J.Ch. For NDT 2 he made 'Oneness' which was premiered during Holland Dance Festival 2007 in The Hague. For Slovak National Theater in Bratislava he made 'Real Time' (2008). His another creation for the NDT2 is 'Offspring' (2009), which was premiered the day his daughter Zoe was born. This piece has been performed in Holland, UK, Slovakia and France. 'Urtanz' (2009) was premiered during TodaysArt Festival in The Hague with dancers from NDT 1.

Bale da Cidade de Sao Paulo has premiered “Offspring” in 2012 in Teatro Municipal in SP originally created for NDT2. In 2014, he created'Inside' (2014) for the Luzerner Theater in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Meeting with literature

Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
