"Alert" is the cry of our children in the face of the saturation of our system. Between war, inequality or ecology, the bodies and faces in this film explode. Étienne Rochefort places the population at the center of his creative process and collaborates with them. Here, that of the Glacis district in Belfort. The words of a child, the bug carried by a virtuoso dancer who is gaining momentum, and the silent cries of these children which remind us of the emergency.

“Indecision is not an empty word for me and many – IF – have marked part of my existence before maturing a lasting project through the creation of company 1 of Si. Pusillanimous in my beginnings, I claim today my journey is fragmented, “deinstitutionalized” and self-taught.

Skateboarding, drawing, magic or music do not remain in my life like unfinished journeys. I draw from these experiences, rich in encounters, influences and skills which forge the singularity of my research today. The body has always been a way of communicating for me and dance has become a language. Hip hop nourished the foundations of this dance before I explored a contemporary register in search of a more personal dance. I like what I like to call “video dance”. Slow motion, rewind, pause, glitch... so many special effects recreated by movement, and reinforced by body states: solidity, fluidity, mechanicity, liquidity... These tools constitute the framework around which I build the immersed choreography in a plastic and cinematographic universe where the atmosphere and the feeling have all their importance. A question remains at the heart of each of our creations: who are we?"

Created in 1985 by the City of Cannes, the Cannes - Côte d'Azur France Dance Festival is undoubtedly one of the largest international festivals. The creation of this Festival is part of a historic relationship between the City of Cannes and the world of Dance, thanks in particular to the dynamic generated by the opening of the Rosella Hightower International Dance Center in 1961. Since 1993, to the rhythm of a biennial, the event has found its identity, relying on numerous creations presenting new talents from the choreographic scene and the work of major international companies. With MOV’IN Cannes, the festival celebrates the meeting of contemporary dance and the 7th Art and highlights this magnificent relationship by launching an international dance film competition under the artistic direction of Didier Deschamps and Éric Oberdorff.
