Groud, Sylvain

A graduate of the CNSMD in Paris, Sylvain Groud began his career working with Gigi Caciuleanu and then Angelin Preljocaj. Winner of the Concours International de Paris with his first choreography, he has continued his creative work around two main axes: site-specific pieces and the relationship between music and dance. With his company MAD, he created over 30 pieces between 1994 and 2018.

That same year, he was appointed director of Ballet du Nord, CCN Roubaix Hauts-de-France, and created the participatory show Let's Move! and the duet Dans mes bras. In 2019, he created Métamorphose and Adolescent, his first collaboration with Françoise Pétrovitch.

In 2020, in response to the health crisis, he created the play 4m² at the Grand Bleu in Lille. It was subsequently presented in theatres with the Scène Nationale label and at dance festivals, as well as in non-dedicated venues such as schools, nursing homes and shops.

Since 2020, he has been working regularly with video artist Léonard Barbier-Hourdin to create choreographic films. Rooted in the Hauts-de-France region, most of these projects involve local people: Symbiose, réveil sur le terril (with 80 amateurs), Huis Clos (carte blanche offered by the Louvre-Lens museum), Bouge ton Bassin (for the 10th anniversary of the inclusion of the mining basin in UNESCO's World Heritage list), and more.

In autumn 2021, he will create two choreographic duets: L'autre and Lorsque l'enfant était enfant. His next creation, Des chimères dans la tête, is scheduled for autumn 2023.

Plumet, Hervé

Author, photographer and director.

After studying applied arts in Lyon, he worked in a number of agencies as an art director. From 2009, he became a freelance photographer and director, working mainly in the field of cultural communication, notably for the Toy Museum, the Manufacture de Sèvres and the Hunting Museum in Paris. In collaboration with the visual artist Françoise Petrovitch, he has produced video works presented as part of Marseille 2013 or exhibited in museums (Musée de la chasse, MACVAL). As a director, he has made a number of films that demonstrate his commitment to ‘great causes’: for the LICRA on viral racism, for CCFD against tax havens, for the FNSF against violence against women, and for the Cardio Vascular Research Foundation. In publishing, he has collaborated on several occasions with Françoise Petrovitch: Mes familiers (Sémiose édition, Frac Alsace 2004) and Ne bouge pas poupée (CIAV Meisenthal 2008). In 2010, he also collaborated with Éric Pessan on La fête immobile (Presque Lune edition) and published Ne rien oublier (Arles edition), for which he wrote both the text and the photographs. For Des chimères dans la tête, Hervé Plumet is responsible for the sound and video design.

Le Mao, Gilles

Director of the production company La Huit since 1990, Gilles Le Mao has produced and directed, on behalf of the General Delegation of Artistic Creation, more than 300 variations of “Dance Events” since 1996.

Executive producer of some 400 audiovisual and cinema programs at La Huit, he also carries out major interviews on personalities from ethnology, architecture, landscape and art history with the Ministry of Culture. 2009 World Music Favorite Prize from the Charles Cros Academy for the film “The Drums of Tokyo”, he has produced around fifty documented concerts on jazz, world music and classical music since 1999.

He has also been a member of various selective cinema commissions since 2009 at the CNC and in the Limousin, Normandy and Grand-Est regions. Since 1995, he has worked with the Ministry of Culture - Drac Ile de France in high school and BTS cinema and production section.
