100m
A short dance film based on a precise choreography of the camera and the dancer reflecting an individual journey through different stages of grief. Shot in a single take in a long industrial tunnel, within its strict time and spatial framework, '100m' underlines the uniqueness of this intimate experience.
Making
The work was created in three main stages.
First one was the research for the choreography, whose structure is inspired by the 5 Stages of Grief- a theory developed by psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, as well as the architecture of the tunnel, where the film was shot. From the first choreographic rehearsals, we were also planning and choreographing the movement of the camera. In the second stage of the process, we were rehearsing together ( dancer/choreographer and DOP/cameraman) and we also designed the lights, which as well were very strictly planned and programmed as the whole film is shot in a one long single take. The last stage, the shooting day, was very challenging, but at the same time extremely exciting. From the originally planned duo, it turned out that it was only possible to create 100m film by traversing the entire tunnel in a team of five. DOP, AC, Graffer, Assistant lighting operator/ second choreographer and the dancer - in a very precise way, we all crossed the whole tunnel together and that is how 100m was created. Then the soundtrack for the film was created.
Music
The soundtrack for 100m film was created by Joanna Wabik - an experimental composer, sound designer and architect from Poland. Joanna made the soundtrack using only the sounds collected in the tunnel and recordings of the dancer's voice. She created it in a direct relation to the film.

Meeting with literature
Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
